Hello, I'm Aro, let's get to know each other a little, shall we?
On my journey becoming a mom, my biggest documentary project was called MAS PARA LOS MÍOS. Here I tell you why:
What does “Más para los mios” mean?
It roughly translates to being more to my own. My own self. My own family. My own friends. I want to be more to and for THEM. It’s a personal reminder. At some point of my life my biggest dream was to become the best photographer, but I discovered that wasn’t what I wanted most. What I really wanted is to simply BE MORE TO THEM and that’s what I focus on every single day. I want to remind them that I was there. Present. Mindfully living the best phase of our lives by their side.
Do you want photos that are different?
You must be looking for the same thing I do in every photo I take: see our family as they are. When we play, the unthinkable happens. We forget about everything, we live IN the moment, we connect with our truest self, we show our strengths and weaknesses, we do what we like. We laugh and cry, make mistakes and fix them, protect and defend the youngest or look up to or defy the oldest… so, let’s play!
What are the documentary sessions like?
The photo sessions at home are the most complete, because you’re in your own space. Who knows if you’ll still live there tomorrow, so let’s capture those memories NOW. Don’t worry about what you’re going to wear, what to do, how to act, or even tidy up the place. My best advice to you is to let that day just flow. Yep! Just dress as you would normally do on any given day.
What to expect from me?
You can trust me because I’m a trained professional. I’ve been a photographer for the past eight years and I still love what I do. I love the nostalgia that photography inspires. I’ve always liked to print my favorites and put them on my fridge or anywhere in our home. I love seeing them and re-live that day I never would have guessed what becoming a mom was going to feel like.
What do I expect from you?
Sometimes we want to control every single detail and more often than not, that detail is what makes your family unique and special. Just think that whatever happens that day, will happen. And don’t let any worries keep you from going with the flow so that your family and I can be in tune with each other.
Remember, kids will be kids. They don’t like to be told what to do. We’ll make it so the experience will also be fun and enjoyable for them. At the end of the day YOU will enjoy it as much as they will. You’ll forget about the photos and live that day to the fullest with your family.

If you asked me what was the one memory I would love to have a photo of?
I would say I’d give my life to have a photo of my dad holding me in one of those hugs he used to wrap me in, to make me feel like I meant the world to him and I was completely loved. Or when I used to hold his hand while walking down the street to the convenience store. Those photos don’t exist and he’s no longer here. They only exist in my memory and it would have been AMAZING to have had them captured in a photo.
How about you? What memories would you like to smell, feel and re-live forever?
You know, the kind of memories you would hold on to in your mind and heart. Make a list, because I already know you’re the kind of family that makes every day COUNT. Feel it. Breathe it in. Re-live it with this documentary photo shoot you’re about to have made.
